I purchased this product based on positive customer reviews. It did not adequately remove odors from sport clothing. I followed the instructions on the bottle and washed on the "sport" cycle on my front loading washer. I washed the garments twice, and they still smelled sweaty.

Check my other reviews for these types of detergents. I have tried several (Win, Win Free, Scuds, and Penguin) and decided give a brief review of all at the same time.
I find the Penguin does not remove the odors the best.
I would not recommend this as a first choice, there are other types that work better, IMO.
I do not notice any offensive scent left by the detergent though.
I would recommend those looking to try these odor removing detergents to try out (in order of preference), Win in the Blue bottle, Win Green Dye Free and SportSuds, tying for 2nd place.

This detergent is just okay at getting the stink out of sports clothing, and it leaves behind a very strong chemical smell. The chemical smell was so bad, I couldn't wear the clothes - I had to wash them again in another detergent. Sport Suds is the detergent that has worked the best for my running clothes.

I had a problem with removing odor from some of my running tops. I washed and rewashed with several different detergents, softeners, and febreze spray. Nothing worked, until...I read about this product in Runner's World and immediately looked it up on Amazon. I was a bit skeptical but with one wash of my running clothes and Penguin they lost their lingering odor and were restored to like new!
Very, very satisfied. This will be a new staple in my laundry room.

This product works much better than regular detergent.
Personally, I had better luck with the Fabreeze ?SP? brand product. Everyone's chemistry is different, but Fabreeze worked better for me.
