About Exercise Bikes
Despite the competition from trendy new fitness inventions, exercise bikes continue to be popular options for home exercise. They offer the same aerobic benefits of riding a bicycle at any time, in any weather, without leaving the comfort and safety of home. Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors. While the same could be said for a number of other types of home fitness equipment, the exercise bike is one of the few that allows you to watch television or read a magazine while you work out. For many people, having convenient access to quality exercise equipment is critical to sticking with a long-term exercise program.

"No excuse not to exercise!" 2010-07-19
By Nancy
Purchased this bike for my husband's birthday about a month ago as an alternative to riding outside when the weather is bad. It was easy to assemble in about an hour. The control panel is well lit and easy to use and read. The seat is a little wider than most bike seats so we may change that in the future. The seat is adjustable, however, making the bike comfortable for tall and short alike. It is extremely quiet, making it enjoyable to watch TV or listen to music. For those looking to save money, the price is substantially less than a treadmill. For those short on space, it also takes up less room than a treadmill. We were pleased with this product and would recommend it to friends.

"Easy to assemble, Works well." 2010-06-24
By Joel DCruz (Virginia, USA)
I read some of the lower rated reviews and was hesitant to get this shipped online, but didn't find a good alternative. The package was fine, and arrived quickly and it was fairly straight forward to setup (it does take a good hour or so). The bike works well and I have been using it continuously for about 30 minutes a day for the last three weeks without any issues.

"Well built, quiet, and very functional" 2010-06-18
By Paul Ernst (Torrance, CA)
I received my Schwinn 140 from Amazon on May 25, 2010. The box was in perfect condition, all parts and tools needed for assembly were in the box. I'm 77 years old and was able to assemble the machine in a little over 30 minutes using the assembly instructions provided in the box. I use the machine for continuing therapy on my two prosthetic knees to keep them moving freely. The bike is fully adjustable and over a couple of days I had it perfectly comfortable for my daily exercise. The display is wonderful and very easy to read. I have now ridden the bike over 200 miles. I have found it to be better for my needs than the machines at my club because it is more adjustable in seat and bar position and provides the same level of exercise. The personal program capability is a real plus!

"i'm pleased after 4 months of use everyday." 2010-06-17
By J. kim Engle (williamsport, pa)
i've had my schwinn 140 now for at least 4 months and i'm very pleased. when it came the left front plastic shoe on the front stabilizer bar was broken during shipping but i put it on the bike regardless and called schwinn to have another one mailed to my home. took about an hour to assemble and i plugged it in to a wall outlet picked my resistance setting and i unplugged it and haven't plugged it back in since.[ i don't like to pay for electricity unless necessary.] i ride my exercise bike everyday and i've never had a problem. i'm 5ft. 10 in. 212 lbs. and it is really sturdy and durable. so to close this out i think this was another great buy from amazon for a real good price.

 "Display/Console do not work" 2010-06-14
By PAK (Sacramento, CA)
Overall basic function works ok. But, it is advertised as having features with different preset program workouts and the ability to set up users to track workouts over time. I spent two hours trying to get those features to work and finally gave up. It does not remember the user information I enter and it does not give me any options for preset workouts. So, basically, I paid extra for features that do not work--I could have purchased a less expensive model to get a bike with a clock and the ability to change resistance levels.
If you want equipment that offers extra features, this is not the choice for you.
