About Exercise Bikes
Despite the competition from trendy new fitness inventions, exercise bikes continue to be popular options for home exercise. They offer the same aerobic benefits of riding a bicycle at any time, in any weather, without leaving the comfort and safety of home. Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors. While the same could be said for a number of other types of home fitness equipment, the exercise bike is one of the few that allows you to watch television or read a magazine while you work out. For many people, having convenient access to quality exercise equipment is critical to sticking with a long-term exercise program.

 "Great w small footprint" 2010-07-04
By Analog2
I am a senior beginner. Putting it together and customer service are important to me.

When it arrived the progress meter was broken. After a few phone and email exchanges, it was replaced in a timely manner. They responded to email inquiries regarding status of the replacement. But if I didn't email, I'd still be waiting.

Assembly went without hitches. I assembled it using only the provided tools. Taking my time it took 45 minutes.

Tip: if you have trouble with the tension cable as another reviewer did, turn the adjustment knob to increase slack.

It's very quiet, solid, and has a small footprint.
I bought the cushion seat but don't think it's necessary.

"Quiet but a couple of drawbacks" 2010-06-27
By Patricia E. Faulkinberry (New York, NY USA)
Seat is EXTREMELY uncomfortable. Comparing it with exercise bikes I've used in the past, the angle of the seat is not right and cannot be adjusted enough to compensate. Also, its display only shows one type of measurement at a time (distance, time, calories, etc.) and my previous bikes have shown all. Pluses are that it is quiet and does not rock.

 "Works for me" 2010-06-20
By Moonglow (Massachusetts)
I bought this exercise bike for medical reasons. I have angina and the doctor suggested an exercise bike as part of my treatment. I am very happy with this purchase. I do 35 to 40 minutes a day and bike about 6 to 7 miles. I have had no problems with the bike. The tension wire was a bit tricky , but once assembled it works well. Recommended .

 "Good for Older Folks" 2010-05-23
By My Bike (New York)
The Stamina 1300 Magnetic Resistance Bike performs well. Two persons are needed to assemble the product.

The PROS are: The bike is functional, the monitor works well and the product is the right price for me.
The CONS are: The bike did not provide enough resistance; and the seat was uncomfortable after a while. I had to put a towel to make it easier for me and I am a small person.
